Biography

Christian Wenzel (b. 1977) is a German composer.

In his music he combines clarity, sense of color and comprehensibility while maintaining a contemporary, expressionist and individual style.

He studied with Mark Andre, Georg Friedrich Haas and Caspar Johannes Walter and holds degrees (MA, diploma) in composition from Basel Music Academy, Switzerland as well as from Strasbourg Conservatory, France.

Christian Wenzel’s music has been performed in Europe (Austria, France, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom) and in the United States.

As a conductor he regularly works with choirs and chamber orchestras.

He holds the position of artistic director of the Newartmusik Project and has premiered numerous works of emerging and well established composers on the occasion of the Euro-American Festivals in Madrid, Miami, Paris and Vienna.

Christian Wenzel lives in Strasbourg, France and works in Germany.
